One of the most diverse cities in Hudson County, North Bergen is a charming neighborhood that is sure to please. Made up of hills, waterfronts, cliffs, plateaus, and meadowlands, the eclectic geography of the area offers a wide variety of landscapes to explore and enjoy. The defining feature of the neighborhood is the James J. Braddock North Hudson County Park. Named after the long-time North Bergen resident, James J. Braddock was a local hero who brought pride and joy to the area, particularly during the Great Depression, when he stunned the world by earning the title of, World Heavyweight Boxing Champion.

The 167-acre park boasts lakefront and clifftop views of NYC, while providing visitors with a variety of nature trails, dog runs, and over forty sports facilities. Located conveniently in close proximity to NYC and the Lincoln Tunnel, North Bergen offers residents large spaces at desirable price points. Bursting with an abundance of cultures, the neighborhood features mouthwatering cuisines and an assortment of nightlife options.

Transportation


There are plenty of major New Jersey Transit bus routes serving North Bergen, with several stations strategically located up and down Tonnelle Avenue, Bergenline Avenue, and JFK Boulevard. A wide variety of minor stations are also located throughout the township, ensuring you’ll never have to travel far to find a bus nearby.

Tonnelle Avenue is on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail located at 51st Street in North Bergen. Service from the station travels to numerous locations in Weehawken, Hoboken, Jersey City, and Bayonne. From these stations, connections are available to New Jersey Transit and multiple PATH lines. In conjunction with the Tonnelle Avenue station, NJ Transit operates a park-and-ride lot on Tonnelle Avenue between 49th and 51st Streets.
